Welcome to Prentiss Studio. These items are a collection from over 28 years of making and designing jewelry. It's an eclectic mix of unique pieces, some of which have been popular sellers for years in the galleries that have exhibited my work. Some are new pieces. My goal has been to create designs that are simple, elegant and wearable.

In my work, there is focus on contrasts: between silver and gold, between smooth and textured, between light and dark. I like the way that gold and silver work with each other. As the silver begins to soften or darken, the gold begins to stand out. By putting textured surfaces next to smooth ones, or oxidized (darkened) surfaces next to highly polished ones, each help to define the other, compliment the other. By adding stones, I can bring in more color. To put these design elements together and to keep one from overwhelming the other is interesting and challenging for me.

Almost all of the jewelry is made by the lost wax casting method, where molten metal is poured into an investment mold. Since each piece is an original, slight variances may occur. I hope you find as much enjoyment in wearing one of my designs as I have in creating them. I invite inquires regarding custom work,, although the time frame to get to new pieces is about 1-2 months.
